>>2520015was with a former friend a few years ago out in NM, he was in town (abq) cause his dad was at the va for heart surgery
anyways i would drive up from lc and we'd hang out and go on some trails occasionally, one of the days were at the sandia foothills and there's a path that goes up a ridgeline, so we're up it an hour later or so and he's lookin at the next peak and wants to go to it
i tell him to look over at the mountains and about 3-5 miles away there's a dark line of clouds, i tell him we should head back down because those clouds are on the way and gonna drench us
we got the car a bit soaked but we could have been in a way worse spot if we had gone over to that next peak
i was kind of surprised that he was so unawares and oblivious to it
i had a rain jacket and a small backpack with some basics, it was about half a mile from the parked car, but he and i are from the same home state
but the last number of years he'd been in asheville, nc which is just about hippie central so he'd be doing shrooms and dumb hippie shit in the woods out there, didn't really learn any real good outdoors skills
kinda dissapointing
