Is underwater spearfishing with an actual spear a thing? I should try it.

Hunting with an actual spear underwater sounds more interesting, and it's a thing apparently. I found out about "sea nomads", known as the Moken, who seem to be exceptional freedivers and hunters, and who hunt with tridents at the end of very long poles.

I need to try this. Shit, Thailand may just be my next destination for holidays.

But nothing you can't practice, really. if your have normal vision you can "train" yourself to see underwater.

But sure, from a scientific point of view, they aren't extraordinary, just like shaolin monks are just well trained and /fit/ guys. Their capacities are worth your admiration, but it's still mostly training.
