>>2522631Eh, concrete is not limestone, it is far worse.
Limestone and concrete both derive primarily from calcium carbonate, but in limestone that is mostly in the form of
calcite. It is fairly homogenous and lasts for a very long time. Not as long as diorite or granite but a very long time, especially if it is old enough to marbleize.
Concrete also comes from calcium carbonate but requires tremendous heat to degrade it into calcium oxide and CO2. The CO2 goes up the stack and does its thing with the environment. The calcium oxide requires tremendous more energy be burned to get it to an insane temp for it to clinkerize. That clinker is then smashed into powder and combined with other shit to make cement which is the combined with aggregate, to make concrete.
So concrete is not at all homogeneous. It cracks easily and is weak which is why it needs rebar. Water gets into the cracks and busts it apart. Nature essentially hates it, unlike limestone which can be cut into blocks and stacked up into structure that will last a very long time.
We fucked up when we started building with geopolrmets. Nature has been working to eliminate us ever since.
