Think about setting up your tent in high winds, sudden snow and rain etc. all while potentially using gloves or mittens.
Tie both ends of a guyline to different tent tie out loops with a line runner triangle on each end and stake down the bight, no special knots. This also allows you to just put big stones into the bight if you cant use stakes.
You also need at least 3mm lines or they will be too flimsy too handle.
