Duck incubation

Never used this board just read the first few points on the sticky. Picking up an incubator on the way home from work to incubate some duck eggs. Ducks so superior to chickens

They.both have they're tradeoffs. I keep a little bit of both.
Need to build a second enclosure for the ducks. They've been living together for three years now.

Why are they superior? I live near a lake and there is a house on the lake with ducks and when I used to kayak they go in the water and follow me around till I brought them back.

I prefer ducks over chickens because
1: Duck tastes better
2: Duck eggs are richer in flavor
3: never had a duck that was an asshat

That being said ducks do require more maintenance then chickens. Constant water however the right type of duck can help with food costs if you do it right. Ducks also shit more then chickens are messier then chickens.

I prefer the Saxony Duck and the Cayuga because I am a smug bastard who believes they are better then the Jumbo Pekin.

Yeah i totally agree. Less destructive to grass and gardens too. Chickens fuck my grass up so hard. Duck poop can be directly added to soil/plants unlike chicken poop

we raise ducks, chickens, turkeys and quail.

ducks are the WORST PEOPLE of the bunch. loud, disgusting, RAPISTS.

ducks are Assholes.

I love to eat duck and duck eggs. we will continue to raise them, but they are the worst of our 4 poultry from a maintenance standpoint.

we raise welsh harlequin and silver appleyard.

Struggling to keep the incubator at the right temp. have two thermometers in there one says 103 one says 100. Still air incubator. I'll try to get it reduced by one degree

For the first day I was struggling to get the incubator below 103, today im struggling to get it to 100 from 97. Not too worried about it.If i can get it to the right temp today and keep it then I think theres a high chance I can get at least one of these eggs to hatch
