>>2529837Eh, it can be useful for certain recreational or specific needs. Having ramping or stepped mode can be nice. Best part about it is that it's entirely programmable so if you want to put the time in you can disable the shit you don't want or adjust the light levels at different steps. It's definitely not for everyone and frankly I shared your opinion until I got to using one more often.
Still prefer Malkoff when I need a simple on/off light that "just werks".
Also I've literally never had a depth perception issue with headlamps that OP is on about on night hikes or during SAR searches.
