>>2530789It's ok as a solution. I've attached a wool blanket wrapped in a tarp to the top of my medium ALICE pack in the winter months because my sleeping bag isn't quite warm enough in the mornings.
It was annoying to access things from the top, and I was always worried about my stuff getting wet when the tarp was also wet.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this winter or summer camping, there are better solutions out there.

>>2530794>>2530795>>2530796>>2530797Just for the record, those glorified yoga mats are hot garbage. They take up heaps of space and provide only the bare minimum of insulation. We used to cut them in half so that they only went down to our knees to save the space. Also, they get completely stuffed with stones and sticks if you don't use a ground sheet. Avoid like the plague.
