I like wind chimes. I want to carry a little wooden set with me when I go on hikes so I can hear them clink while I walk.
How can I keep them from getting caught and tangled?

Just find a nice sounding bell instead, chimes will always end up tangled when you're moving around a lot, they're not meant to move.
