'sup, /out/?
I'm doing a nice long hike summer-time this year, but it's my first long-distance hike (160 miles, might not be long-distance to some of you). I'd like to take a phone with me. Not a smart-phone, just something compact, rugged and most importantly with a long battery life.
I'm thinking of turning it on like once a day and just texting some people "Still alive" basically.
GPS capabilities would be cool so that I could just text "Still alive, at 52.40338, -3.17403, going South". This isn't a must-have though, I'll keep track of where I am via map.
I'd prefer to not have to lug a solar charger round with me.
Low cost would be ideal and I acknowledge I won't likely get GPS capabilities on a really cheap phone.
If I can't find a suitable phone, I'll just buy some shitty £10 phone from ASDA with good battery because I won't care too much if it breaks.
Pic related: My friend's phone, but a bit expensive for my liking.
