What kind of tent would be good for winter beach camping? Preferably insolated and wind resistant

You’ll never be rid of the sand. It’s been over a year and I’m still getting sand out of my tent. I don’t mind sand but be warned. As for picking a tent It’s really not much different from any cold camping except you’ll probably have a fair amount of wind. Also watch for tides and camp somewhere elevated. Pick a tent that seals well or it will rain sand on you all for damn night long even with the rain fly. If you can drive on your beach like we can in Texas sleeping in your truck / SUV or whatever is going to be your most comfortable plan.

Unless you're on a lake: anywhere that gets snow at sea level is at a meridian where tides are extreme in winter. A winter King tide in Oregon, for example, can average over 12 feet above Mean Sea Level.
Only retards and drunks camp below the high tide line in winter.

Check the tide guide.
My key point was camping below the high tide line was not a good idea in winter. The high tide line is also an average. You could camp at the tide line and still end up under water in a winter plus tide.

I knew someone whose tent got washed because of that exact reason. Winter beach camping, got surprised by a wave at some point during the night.

Good grief. Any decent tent will stand up to normal coastal wind if you know how to anchor in sand. And it's not the tent that keeps you warm, it's your sleeping system. But as the first post said, it's the sand that you'll be fighting. If it rains on your tent and the wind blows sand onto it the zippers will be instantly destroyed. So a cheap tent is your best option, or tuck into a driftwood shelter and throw a tarp over yourself. Enjoy bringing half the beach back with you.
