The nature of this country is it's only redeeming point, which it has naturally been radically ruining since it broke ground. Shit like

Now that I've been /out/ in foreign lands I feel more secure saying this. Cities are always bad. But the cities here are actively hostile in a way I've not encountered anywhere else. It's no coincidence this place made the internet, basically an international city that seeks to be inescapable.
This is the only country I've been arbitrarily antagonized and cowed by it's enforcement officers despite travelling extensively and always minding the law. We pride our history on chewing up the cultures of other nations and spitting out ugliness and cynicism. God fearing people? I don't think it's God they are fearing... I don't think freedom of religion is meant to foster community but to protect vile shadow practices.
This place is malice. I don't think good people should be here. I really really don't.
