I'm in good shape, been going /out/ for as long as I can remember, hunt and camp in the Mid-Atlantic Winter and have 15 days of skiing so far this year. Am a pretty good skier for the East but I feel like getting some time out of the resorts. Seems like the all-around best choice is skiing Katahdin, probably next winter. I have friends who are all-around decent skiers and backpackers, no rei faggots to be seen, how difficult realistically is it for a bunch of high-test 20 year olds with years of east coast black diamonds under their belts to climb and then ski Katahdin? Thinking of doing some scouting in the summer but my main concern is not knowing the weather patterns in New England well enough.
