For various reasons I was thinking of moving there. Is the nature there ok?

I heard they have some kinds of snakes and mountain lions and lots of bears and stuff like that and it makes me a bit scared.

Do they at least have ok trails there? Are they even safe at all?

lol yeah right. I've only ever come across a handful of snakes, and it's not like they're that hard to avoid. It's mostly onions and corn farms. Though if you squint, the hills in the south can almost feel like mountains. Almost. That's where you wanna be, if anywhere. (The lake of the ozarks can suck my dick)

You'd be better off somewhere in the northeast really. Pretty lackluster natural beauty and the cities are so crime ridden theyre basically off-limits. Not to mention the summers are already getting too hot for me.

Missouri has lots of great state parks and beautiful backcountry. When I say there are state parks, I mean it. They're fucking everywhere. I can think of more than a couple less than 30 minutes away.

The farther you get away from I-35 and US-36, the prettier it's gonna be. Basically everywhere outside of the towns, cities, and farm land here is pretty. Property owners are pretty nice, and the fishing is fun (not sure how it compares to some other places).

If you're thinking of moving here, I'd recommend it. Pretty easy to find a few acres 20 minutes away from the nearest small town.

There's a lot of great places to kayak (Black River, the Missouri river, etc.).

For hiking, the hills in the southern half of the state are kino in the third/fourth seasons and it’s too cold for mosquitoes, ticks, and spiders.
In the summer, wooded trails are a sea of spiderwebs, so it’s best to do water stuff, and lakes and rivers are all over the state.
Caves are all over too if you’re into that.
Deer and Turkey hunting is decent all over the state.
Alternatively, if you’re on the west side of the state, Kansas really doesn’t take that long to drive across to do some summertime Colorado 14ers.
Everyone drives like 85mph the whole way across Kansas

I grew up there until I left for college, was out in the ozarks every weekend from 9 to 18 years old. There are so many gorgeous places to see. Arkansas also have some great relief. I would recommend it, just stay out of St. Louis or north Springfield. Lebanon, Republic, Etc are pretty chill.
Branson is a tourist trap but isn’t the worst thing in the world once in a while.
Just know that the southeast part of the state is literally some of the poorest counties in the nation. Still gorgeous imo.

There are some nice trails here in MO. Katy trail is one of note, over 200 miles long and mostly unpaved. There are plenty of snakes and risk of bears if you camp like a dumb ass. Occasionally you'll get a wild boar or ballsy bobcat as well but never seen a mountain lion. There are a lot of river and lake trails to be found, too many to mention. But overall better trails are in Arkansas in the Bentonville and Fayetteville areas.
