I have been using a inflatable sleeping pad and a cheap milsurp GI bivy for the past year, it works great in the snow and rain too, there will be a normal and expected amount of dampness on the inside of the shell but I am completely dry.
I will likely get a tyvek ground "footprint" at some point, but Im thinking I can just get away with using the small tarp I always carry, I havent been using it but I guess I could if I wanted to
