>>2542578>one clueless person you identified the problem right here. you would have to be clueless to think its a good idea to hike on a 190 lumen mode.
>thats only good for less than an hour?it has 8 hours run time on the internal battery on medium mode.
nitecore's medium mode is 38 lumens and i would say the standard people hike with is 25 lumens. nitecore leans towards the brighter but less run time side of things. if you prefer run time buy a petzl and use it on low.
and in case you weren't aware the whole appeal to the nu lights is that they support battery pass-thru. you're intended to plug it into a battery bank while you use it. the internal battery is basically just a backup.
>and they dont take special babyied (((((protected))))) circuit BS to just make it incompatible with normal 16850s.normal 18650s are the unprotected ones
>go ahead and keep buying their overpriced batteries that they ensured you have to keep buying from them. i just checked, and they are up to $28 now.i already told you panasonic's protected batteries are the same length as nitecore's and that 70mm is normal for a protected cell.
there is also variance in length if the battery is a button top or a flat top style by the way.
the battery standards are a mess and there is little to no standards on the DEVICE side for how the batteries are supposed to fit.
nitecore didn't make the standards and has nothing to do with that.
this problem exists with EVERY brand.
if you're paying $28 for an 18650 cell stop doing that and go to
https://www.imrbatteries.com/ the highest end 18650 cells should be like $12-15 tops.
battery spacers are also a thing that exists if you need to fit a smaller battery into a longer hole.
