>>2540194I've got a retro day, but the hip straps feel like they're set too low on the pack. You have to pull those diagonal hip to corner straps really taut to keep the pack vertical against your lumbar, and that compromises the zipper opening/total capacity. While moving I could barely fit in the fleece I was wearing with almost nothing else in the bag. It's enough for a day hike and having no shoulder straps to rub off the dwr feels great. Upper butt can get sweaty but can also be mitigated by pulling your outerlayers over the belt.
I wish they would make a trampoline back lumbar pack but that's never going to happen. A better solution would be a lumbar + fanny pack to balance the weight, not sure why nobody makes one.
