People rely too much on gps and road signs. I mostly ignored road signs as a kid riding in the car, and gps wasn't popular yet. Navigating by visuals is superior. The look of a place will change, but how many trails actually have visible names. You're better off learning to navigate without assistance. I'm not the best at navigating. I can still get lost, but so many people do not pay attention to their surroundings.

It also takes me 1-2 times of traveling to a new place for me to remember how to get there. I know people who grew up in areas and have no idea where anything is without a map/gps.
