Heading to Nepal end of March probably going to base myself in Pokhara and eyeing up ABC trek.

Worried it will be touristy and full of boomers?

Any other areas or treks to check out (6 days max)?

Yes. Extremely. That's just part of Nepal though, the popular treks are popular for a reason. Honestly, I didn't mind it, as a solo hiker you get to know the people traveling at the same speed as you and it was nice having company when you stopped for lunch or in the evenings.

If you want somewhere quiet then Mustang (or really anywhere outside the Everest/Annapurna regions) would be a better bet.

There's some world class white water rafting in Nepal. I did a great 9 day rafting trip down the Sun Kosi.

Yes I’m also keen to tack on some rafting hence Pokhara area as most trips run from there, any shorter, itineraries say 4 days?

Just time really, have two weeks and any of the decent treks burn a lot of time travelling to the trail head.

Never been to the Himalayas before so imagine I will be easily pleased no matter what.

I would stick to doing one solid trek then, especially since you need to take acclimatization into account. There's no 4-6 day treks anyway unless you want to confine yourself to day hikes around town.

That photo was taken above the treeline. Nepal is actually famous for its rhdodendron forests.

If you want to avoid tourists do not go to the Himalayas.
Go somewhere else.
The pamir mountains for example are much less visited but no less dramatic. There are plenty of places in the pamirs where tourists rarely go. Design your own trek.
Pakistan is another good option.

Could be worse things to have to eat, at least dhal bust has free refills.
Happy to eat local food anyway as you will get price gouged for anything western (and most likely will be shit), biggest concern is lack of protein but will bring a few protein bars to cover me.

Bring plenty of pills for diarrhea, tea house meals will give you the shits after a couple of days

Make sure to double-check acclimatisation days if you're hiking at altitude
