>>2544076It's uncomfortable to be told you aren't supposed to be somewhere. For whatever reason there's a number of "nature preserves" in Ohio where it's a public easement onto private lands (I think), and you are supposed to reserve a pass (free) 14 days ahead of time, at least, for a specific day to visit. Apparently you really can just go anyways, but I guess the system is in place because the preserves are on private land (maybe just in some cases?) so the owners want to sorta scare you away a bit. I never plan hikes that far ahead so I've never been and it kinda sucks.
I hope as I get older, we will move to a less restrictive land access policy more similar to Scotland or some Scandinavian countries have without all this worry of physical removal.
