Anyone able to recommend any kayaks to fit my goal? Something they use or have seen used and personally like?

Me: 270 lbs, 6', big guy.
Looking for a freshwater lake fishing kayak with sit-on-top style, not sit in. I'd like something big enough and stable enough that I can stand to fish if needed, but I'd also like something big enough to fit a dog on it. Alternatively I want something that wouldn't be terribly difficult to tow some rafts behind for my dogs to hang out.

Would probably prefer foot pedals.

Budget: 2-4k USD

This is what I've got, has a capacity of 425 lbs. I bought mine two years ago for $1100 instead of the $1700 they're ripping people off for now, though it's well within your budget. Also it has plenty of flat-bottom room for a dog.

I hope you realize that a high-capacity pedal kayak will require either a trailer or another person. Alone, I can slide my 90 lb. 12'-2" YuPIK onto the roof of my Hyundai rice burner, sitting on pool noodles and ratchet-strapped through the four doors with cam straps front and back, then tear down the highway at 70+ MPH and it doesn't even budge. Loud as fuck, though.

It's not just the weight, it's the bulk and awkwardness. You'll see soon enough. Take my advice and use a paddle, you need to burn some pig fat anyway, fattie.

Finally, a heavy, stable kayak with your fat ass, a dog, and your shit on it will be very slow by kayak standards. Don't say I didn't warn you.

why wouldn't you buy a pedal kayak with a budget like that? the only people who prefer paddle kayaks are people who already really like paddling(I'm one) but most people will prefer pedals because it's more efficient and more basic to control.

Just get a jon boat. You will never be comfortable in a kayak you are too fat. You literally will not fit, let alone be able to self power your movement for more then a few yards.

Wrong. I weight that much and go for 8 hour trips. I paddle against 20 mph winds because I want to fish that bad. I weigh more than people fatter and taller than me. In my leanest I was 220 in the army and would pass tape test but never make weight. Some of us fat retards are fit enough to kayak or btm.

Sure they are a bit slower, but since you thought you wanted paddle-drive, that won't be an issue
Can carry more gear/dogs/people then you will ever need, easily portable with a little getting used to

Only downside is that it "can" sink (if you are a moron) but the just get floatation bags if you are worried about that, doubt you want to go white water rafting haha!

The lesson I learned early on is: the more expensive the boat the less the owner knows about fishing. I have only ever seen two exceptions to this: The dudes on TV and guides.
