>>25477971. Move to Estes Park and start climbing every mountain there. You'll get in shape fast. Learn to ice climb and work up to mixed ice and rock. Learn to backcountry ski; it'll save you hours on approaches. It's pretty easy to find partners who climb at your level or just above. Don't slack.
2. As soon as you get good on the granite around RMNP start making trips to the Canadian Rockies to climb limestone choss. Canada has enough mountains to keep the average alpinist busy for a hundred years but you should always be thinking about South America, the Alps, or New Zealand because the best way to learn how to not die is to climb different mountains with different weather.
3. Don't worry about the small stuff like money or a place to live, just move to Estes and get a job. Everything else will fall into place. You can literally land in Estes naked and penniless but if you're willing to work you'll make it.
