Right, if you've seen my other thread then you might remember I've got a 160 mile hike in the summer. I've got like four sleeping bags... Three of which are crappy things that you have spare for the house and a Snugpak Elite 5. Big jump, eh'?
I don't want to lug 2400g of sleeping bag around and I hammock camp and I've been reading that because of the weight pushing down against the sleeping bag that you need something underneath the hammock to actually keep in the warmth.
So I've been thinking... Partly because I've been forced to walk around the house in underwear and a blanket, partly because my pack is so small and I'd prefer to keep it small.
I'm thinking of taking an underblanket (The snugpak underblanket weighs just 1kg) and a regular blanket to go over the top of me. I was wearing a fairly thin Ikea poly-something blanket and was surprisingly warm when I wrapped up properly, considering I was standing by the open back door and it's currently 3 degrees C outside.
What do you guys think? Do any of you have any experience to share about things like this?
