Hey /out/, me and my best friend are planning to go on a 2-week hiking trip in swedish lapland this summer. What I want to know from you is, have you ever been there and if so, what tips can you give us according to equipment/food/etc. We'll camp in tents and stay away from civilization during those two weeks.

Depends a bit on your experience and where (&when) exactly you will be going.
Please tell us about that first.

It's no different from any other 2 weeks trekking trip. Bring a good tent with a vestibule for your backpacks and shoes, complete rain gear (backpack, jacket, pants) and proper shoes. And of course map and a compass.

The Fjällkartan maps are great, get some to plan your route and bring it with you.

Generally, buying food in Sweden is expensive, so bring it from where ever you live. No difference to going trekking anywhere else. Though depending on when you go, you'll find mushrooms and berries.
Also, Mosquitoes. A lot of them.

If it's raining much or if it's very warm the ice melts, it can be impossible to cross. If so, you might have better luck next morning or you may even have to change your plans and find some other way to go, Therefore it's important to have at least add 1 or 2 days extra.
There's no marked trails or huts either.

The Padjelanta trail is a nice alternative if you're new to this. less people than Kungsleden

tips regarding equipment.
2 sets of thermal layer + socks of wool or synthetic to sleep in and always keep dry.
Temperature can go below zero during the nights even in the summer. When the sun goes down it gets quite chilly.
Map and compass, I only trust the gps to pin point my position.

Butter or oil is an easy way to add extra energy to your food. 100gram of butter is like 700calories.
