Squat and piss is the most common I've seen, but you could also just lean back against a tree and spread but that's pretty showy if there's people in the area. I don't know how you're hitting your heels while squatting, your feet shouldn't be that close together and your pee stream shouldn't be going straight down unless you're hunching over.
