Idk I'm in Southern California and rangers have been pricks about having the fire permit, camp permit, parking permit, adventure pass or national/state park passes. But all they really care about is that you're not going to burn the whole mountain down....
If you look orderly/ clean/ articulate they don't mess with you. So it's a win/win, they keep the n00bs and ghetto out of the woods. I'm all for the rules, they lay it out clearly, and easy to follow. Then you have *** that cry about a $5 parking fee and that keeps them away. More.rules.the merrier. Just go car camping and have a real bonfire, not a little janky shit
