Bought an Equinox 900 and a Garret pinpointer. Leshe trowel and a nokta shovel. Bought myself a loup and a pocket microscope as well.
I've only been doing it for the past 2 weeks but it's something I've been interested in since I was very young. Only been out in the yard and to local parks so far. Some notable finds are 2 rings, one is a blinger, the other is gold plated. I did find a silver dime in pretty good condition.
The plan is to take my gear on the motorcycle this summer and go metal detecting around the province (BC). I'm trying to keep gear small and lightweight, that's why I haven't chosen a sand scoop yet. The CKG lightweight scoop looks pretty good, but shipping here doubles the price of it. I'm also hoping there will be a foldable mod for the control unit on the 900 so I can pack it down further.
