I also cannot stress enough that you should not buy a cheap slingshot off of Amazon or in a retail store. I nearly lost an eye to a cheap $5 slingshot when the frame explosively deconstructed to reveal that the forks were extremely short, sending a piece of mystery metal into my face. Bands, pouches, and ammo are generally safe from Amazon but you get what you pay for.
As for hunting ammo, either steel ball bearings, or pick up bulk lead shotgun ammo that's used for reloading. Again, you'll have to match the size and weight of the ammo to the slingshot bands you're using.
