>>2562324Which is probably already done In the factory right before the heat treatment, no way you are going to do a better job at home unless you are a practiced blacksmith, after reheating the blade you made it soft again so you need to harden it yourself and again that I'll probably go way more controlled in a factory
Also what you probably mean is galvanizing but that is not done that way, the only way to prevent rust (i e oxidation) is to keep oxygen away from it, a thin layer of oil works really well or galvanizing with zinc or even blueing. If it where that easy to get your steel that rust resistant there would be no reason to buy expensive super steel knives.
Just use a mora, wipe it after use or put some oil on the carbon steel ones, buy new one if kaput
