It's usually best to assume rich parents. If not rich parents then it's usually inheritance. I inherited 500k from an uncle I had never even met. Most excessive money comes through family.

I guarantee this guy is a fuck up kid of some stupidly wealthy west coast boomers. And they just give him a enough to fuck off and hopefully die out there because they are sick of him smoking meth in their cabana since he has nowhere to go. I've watched his channel and he makes a ton of low IQ mistakes and super scatter brained demenor. He's definitely an ex junkie.

The best sailing channel is "adventures of an old sea dog" , makes me want to get into sailing, I worked at a boat shop and have a little shop to access at a marina but I'm broke as fuck and pnw sailing season is way too short for me to bother buying a sailboat. I only see it being worth if you can sail around the equator year round and never needing to answer to a job. Sadly only boomers have the opportunity to live like that nowadays.

Used sailboats apparently go for, on average, $110K so you can just assume that they inherited wealth or have a wealthy family. None of us poors are going to own a boat to do this shit.

like others have said most of the social media sailors are rich parents or somehow wealthy enough to not worry about it. the other kind of sailing videos are the dirtbag sailors who make most of there money in the glamorous jobs of deliveries, scrubbing boat bottoms, sailing instructors, and other odd jobs. honestly once you have a boat if you aren't doing all the social media activities sailing isn't *that* expensive of a life style if you actually sail. it's sitting in harbor for 3 weeks and going on shore every day that gets expensive.

haven't seen this guy before but his boat can be found in the $10k range pretty easily so if he does have money he's spending it on fun things at least and not a fancy boat.

I don't use adblock in Youtube at all and I donate to a channel if I watch every video they make (currently 14 youtubers). I also buy sponsored and affiliated stuff sometimes, especially outdoor gear.

His boat is from the 60s and in one of the videos I watched he talked about not being able to afford an unusually high mooring fee so he anchored out.
The thing with cruising like this is that it can be absurdly expensive if you want it to be, but it doesn't have to. Half the point of traveling around so much is that you spend a lot of time in places that are very cheap to live in, maybe somewhat counterintuitively it costs a lot less to live on your boat in some tropical develping country people go on expensive vacations to than sitting in a marina back at home.
