April-May is also typically windy season (consistent 20-70 mph gusts) across the entire high country (5,000ft + elv) of the four corners states (AZ, NM, UT, CO). There is a warm snap right now but both rims can freeze at night until around mid-June during cold snaps and the last high elevation snow storms usually occur in late May.
