I need some advice on these.

First question is what is the etiquette for carpooling? Some of the hikes are like 2+ hrs away for people and a lot of them carpool or offer to carpool others, but is it standard to charge people?

It would make sense but I don’t see anyone mentioning it.

Also a lot of the groups seem really cliquey. Like this one guy left a comment about feedback and one of the older members attacked him viciously and said it’s the best group ever etc.

Another thing is I just signed up for a hike that’s this weekend but realized it’s actually $5 for the hike, plus we’ll probably have to pay for parking too. Should I just flop? Not sure if it’s worth going cause driving to there is expensive too cause of the gas etc.
