That alone is kind of special to me. I really really hate getting up early. Before 11am I'm completely useless, choleric, and spiteful. Except if I have to get up really early for /out/ related activities (mostly freeriding or when trekking). Then getting up early is the best thing ever, and I can't get up early enough.

Laying down on the ground after a hard climb or hike, head on my backpack, staring at the clouds breathing in the clean air feeling a cool breeze. Total contentment.

Alternatively, fighting for handholds in the side of a crumbling cliff in terrible weather or smiling through something similarly intense.

Hmm, I live up in Mohave County, pretty much the opposite corner of the state. Haven't been to Tucson in over 10 years. There's plenty of stuff down there though... You could spend a lifetime in AZ without ever having to leave the state. Although most western states are really like that... Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, all have great variety.
