Okay I really don't fucking get it and I need to know if these boomers are trolling me.

So I am from Southern California but recently moved to Michigan. So I went turkey hunting with these guys since one of the guys I work with was into hunting and said he thinks I'd like it since I've always been into guns and stuff.

So we go out turkey hunting and when we came back in for the night one of them goes whats that, is that a snipe, and he walks outside with a big ass paper bag and tried to grab it. I never saw this thing, but for all I know he could have gotten one. He said it got away. Anyway, it was pretty dark and they said you only hunt them in the dark. So I googled it and a snipe looks kind of like a grouse or small bird or some sort of smaller game bird. Its on MIchigan DNR's website as being a legit thing too. However, there were some stories about people messing with kids telling them to go snipe hunt in the backyard.

So give it to me straight, are these things fucking real?
