Propeller vs Mirage/Fin drive kayak for fishing? I've seen so much discussion back and forth. You ask 10 people, you get 12 different answers.

How important, REALLY, is instant reverse on the Old town PDL propeller drive? I'm going to be fishing in a relatively large lake, maybe a shallow river from time to time. The Pelican Catch 130 HD doesn't have reverse, but it's a fin drive so does that matter? Can get fin drive with reverse but then you're talking Hobie Compass which is a weaker deck layout imho. Could get the Pelican Catch 130 HD and upgrade to a Hobie Mirage 180 later, but I'm not sure.

What about for actual leg muscle usage/endurance? Is it easier to use a PDL for long distances because its like a bicycle, or the Mirage/Fin drive? I hear Fin drives are super efficient, but what does that mean in terms of stressing on your leg. Does it feel like walking?

I have no way of trying out either in my area
