Hey all,

A group of these flowering plants popped up in a bunch in like 2 weeks in my yard. It's a fairly rural yard but I have never seen them before. Are they a weed or beneficial?

Very stiff and strong shaft. Just a weird plant I've never seen in this area. Sticks out like a sore thumb on my property.

Any flowering plant, with green stem and green leaves is beneficial
i think i might have seen them before but i cant quite put my finger on it

South PA region. It's just a tiny little patch. About as big as my initial shot, but man, it sticks out. Next time I mow I will hit it because I usually let this area grow up some every other cut. I am on ALOT of land. Just weird in all my other acres of land I don't remember seeing any. Even in the fields. Just want to know if I should kill them right away because they may spread or let em live.

Well, I cut off all the tops of the weed and they go in the trash. Not sure I want to spray a soil sanitizer that kills all biological processes in the soil, but maybe I have to.

Lol ok. This is the stuff. It's much more concentrated and has another ingredient in it than stuff like roundup. It's useful for what it's made for. Old brick and concrete/stone walkways, under propane tank anywhere you don't want growth for a year.

Also, that would be MANY acres of land including two barns and a pole building anon. You'd have to pay up BIG to get me off this land or any of my other properties. Even though I am surrounded by well groomed fields the most issues I have are always around my home.

I just don't like messing around. Too much other stuff to do. I highly recommend this stuff though. You can get it at tractor supply. It works better than anything I've ever used.

I probably should mow back there more, but I wanted the grass to go to seed to fill in some sparse spots.

If this doesn't bother you just cover it with black tarp instead. Healthier for the soil and easy to grow lawn or whatever after. To be extra sure leave it open for a moist month or two after everything died and then cover it again to get rid of seedlings.
