Will be hiking and camping all the way from Arizona to British Colombia for about 6 weeks.

Fairly avid hiker but never invested in a good pair, currently use north face random boots I got for cheap a few years ago, they are worn smooth.

Some questions?
>should I look at waterproof?
>low or high ankle?
>what if they get wet?
