Hello /out/,
Me and 3 friends are planning a large hike in the Tatra mountain range in Slovakia, from Baníkov all the way to Lomnický. We are still beginner hikers, but we wish to face a challenge. We were thinking of traversing between the peaks, and wild camp in the valleys between them for the night, as we want to avoid most of the designated trails.
We are prepared with:
>equipment (backpack, shoes, tent etc.)
>medical supplies
>food and water (mostly salted meat and crackers next to some fresh food, we plan on replenishing water at sources)
We are unprepared for:
>parking for our car
>rock climbing (no ropes so it would be free-form)
>potential fines if we get caught camping
>bears
Are the wild camping rules strict? We would only pitch a tent for the night and not be loud or start campfires. And if we were to run out of food, are there any huts scattered about the mountains?
