i didn't ever like snakes until i wound up having to take one in a rescue situation and i've been addicted ever since. i'm debating getting a 10-12ft boa constrictor and giving it half my bedroom.
the only downside to them is that they scare some people from coming over to my house.
and the biblical implications.

the only thing is if you decide to keep snakes as pets its very important to know:
a lot of husbandry & enclosure setup advice online, care sheets, shit breeders say etc is bad. people used to think reptiles work like robots and can't feel pain etc. and back in the day the only people into reptiles were methed out ponytail snake breeders. so husbandry used to mean bare minimum to not kill the animal.
sane snake husbandry advice can be found on /an/ and plebbit but be cautious to avoid plebbit posts older than 5yrs or so.
