You probably haven't seen it but google "Inside The Wild" or something like that. It's about this boy who gets beat up by a police officer when he tries to go train hopping so he decides to go to Alaska and live as a hermit.

It's pretty good. I think he dies at the end.

Moonrise Kingdom

My favorite movie of all time not just for the outdoorsy nature of it, but for the fact that it's a whimsical romantic comedy. I'm not going to explain the plot, just watch it and I promise you will not be dissappointed.
