I don't like reading about being out. If I'm somewhere local I might listen to an audiobook of my usual interests, which are occult and history nonfiction. Otherwise I don't want to consume media where someone else is doing the activity I want to do. It's also why I don't watch porn. I guess I'd watch Schizosaint or one of a few hiking/adventures outdoors YouTuber types for entertainment.

Do you mean books about /out/ stuff? Might be already mentioned, but For Whom the Bell Tolls is oretty good. But as far as books to read while DOING /out/ stuff, I like to bring stoic philosophy along on solo backpacking trips. Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, Letter's From A Stoic by Epictetus, etc.
