I have the insulated Hunter, and use it as a large poncho when I post for goose hunting.
I'll pull it on, fold out my little tripod chair, and if it's really nippy, light a tea candle in an empty and perforated fish ball tin turned upside down over it. It gets proper toasty and warm, and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't fallen asleep like that a few times.
It's also big enough to wear as a rain poncho over your backpack.
If you're not hunting from a post or a blind, I suppose it's more of a thing that's nice to have with you in case something goes wrong on a short trip - If you already have a tent, sleeping bag and warm clothes, there's really not much it will do for you. Perhaps if you trip up and break something on a day trip and you need to wait in place for rescuers to get to you, or your car gets stuck in a blizzard.
