I will be going to Las Vegas for a wedding during early October this year. While there, I'd like to see the Grand Canyon, but I only have a day to do so and I'd like to maximize my Canyon aesthetics. (I live in Europe and I seldom go to the US)

Currently planning to simply drive to the West Rim and spend the day since its the closest to where I'll be staying, but what do you guys think? Are there any essential spots I should prioritize while there, or should I reconsider and take an extra day go to the South Rim and explore more?
