>>2595374If you're hanging food, have a specific piece of line for that and store it with the food stuff.
For general bullshit around camp, consider a line bag. I forget who recommended it, but you bring some pre-cut lengths of line, (paracord, or accessory cord, whatever makes you happy).
The guy who I got the idea from suggested
(6) 3' lengths, (4) 6' lengths, (2) 12' lengths, then assuming you cut that stuff out of a 50' hank of cord, whatever is left over, you bring for clothesline, etc...
Since I started carrying that, I tie the large hank into a "rapid ridgeline" - put a bowline into one end and then figure-8 it between your thumb and little finger on one hand until you have about 5 feet left, then wrap it tight in the center of the bundle you made, heading towards the end the bowline is sticking out of. hitch the end twice around the hank to finish it off. Then you can just pull the bowline out of the end when you want to use it.
I haven't had many times I've wanted more rope, at least for general camp stuff. I store all of that shit in a net bag so it can dry out fast if it gets caught in the rain
