>>2599752>looked intoso did i 10 years ago, went chinese rebranded rtt for 1300€ at that time and here is my conclusion since then.
exact same tent is still sold today under a gazillion different names, some of them regarded to be top of the line, so parts are complete non issue
really good quality
faster than any ground tent to pitch up/take down since you dont have too look around for or unpack anything from your car, its all in the tent. 3min from turning off ignition to being under your duvet on an actual mattress.
keeps all your tent and sleeping gear away from the rest of your load.
doesnt even make an impact on my fuel consumption, then again when im camping im not cruising highways at 100+kmh im on backroads, dirtroads and tracks, im lucky to hit 80kmh once a day.
install and forget, i leave mine on all summer. just need a mental note not to drive into parking garages since that will be ugly. often end up camping when i didnt plan to because why not, its all there?
my main purpose of these trips is fishing and its totally out of the question to spend even 1 second to move my tent to access my fishing gear and equally unacceptable to have to move around fishing gear again when i set up camp. this solves all that.
roof=sleeping
inside car=easy access to everything i need on short notice while on the road
it is NOT for you if you stay several nights at the same site because it locks down your car, the ease of use decreases by height of car or if you truly enjoy the act of putting up camp.
