Bug spray is a mene that doesn't even work if the bugs think you're tasty enough. One guaranteed method of insect repellent is to make a fire and soak up all the fire smell. Bugs hate that shit, they think you're some kind of wildfire and have a primal urge to stay away.

Stop projecting downie. I've researched and tested permethrin extensively. It takes five to ten minutes to kill when freshly applied, and degrades over time. So it's great on ticks but so so on flying insects. If a mosquito lands on your shirt it might kill it eventually, but not before they bite you.

Just use picaridin ... also permethrin is available in the EU, for use as an indoors insecticide, but its agricultiural use was banned due to environmental impact of industrial use.

Yep. I got some very serious tick bites from very early this season, that haven't fully healed yet. I wasn't using deet or permethrin. Since I've been using deet with permethrin, and no bites since after dozens of /out/ings. Permethrin has been a final solution to the tick problem.
