I don’t know why you would worry about midges at all, but as far as mosquitoes go, I remember getting bit a lot more as a kid and bites being bigger and itchy. These days as a 40 year old man, it feels in relative terms like the mosquitoes don’t particularly like me, and if I do get bites I don’t even notice them unless I actually see them and or actively itch them.
