it would make more sense to compare them to a specific mountain range in the rockies. smokies are to the appalachians as the wasatch are to the rockies for example

even then, not really. the only things the smokies have is higher tree and reptile diversity

Every natural area has it's own charm and is equally beautiful and enjoyable, I never understood the point of comparing. "hurr higher elevation" "its more remote" "hurr the appalachians are older" "muh deciduous trees" retards.

in spring its the reverse of the fall show but some of the same colors
it's pretty nice if you catch it when the trees are just greening up
also gives you lots of shade in the summer
