Has anyone on /out/ hiked the San Jacinto mountains?

Is it doable in a day? Does it require any specific gear aside from cold weather clothing?

How did you like it? Any other SoCal hiking spots you recommend?

Pretty sure they're all doable in a day. See some people camping up near the peak. I'd take sun protection and as much water and hydration packs as you can carry. Keep an eye out for forest fires.

yes, chris the "hiking guy" has a great guide on youtube and also on his personal website witb gpx map.
PROTIP: there's a grove of Sequoia trees in the San Jacinto wilderness

From the tram its definitely doable in a day that's what normies use. Deer Springs/Devils Slide/Marion Mountain trails are for those in good shape. Snow Creek/Cactus to Clouds is only for those with the best level of physical fitness.

Less traveled/visited than most of the other southern california mountains so you might enjoy that
