I live in Karnataka, and there are many activities to be doing outdoors. There is no hunting in India, but we can fish, hike, and camp.

The fish we really like to catch are Mahseer. We are famous for Mahseer. We also have snakeheads. I know they are very bad in America. And also eels.

Nice, never heard of either of them. Looked them up, Mahseer looks like a monster to fight. We have some invasive huge Asian carp around out waters. Around here I mostly fish bass and catfish and trout

I have seen your carp and catfish, very impressive. I got to try rainbow trout before. It was very good. In northern India, there is trout, but I am not sure it will taste good.

There is no more pooping in the street thanks to our prime minister. If someone was to poop elsewhere than a toilet, it would be in the woods not in a street or because they were sick. India is a developing country. In your country, people used to poop in the street and throw poop out their window from a chamber pot.

In Kodagu, which is where I live in Karnataka, we have lots of guns. We do kill nuisance animals like monkeys. Much of India is cuckolded. They have guns in Nagaland too btw.

As a nordcuck I imagine tropical outings are hardmode. Then again being indian is probably hardmode already. I can deal with snow and ice but jungle would just kill me. Imagine all the insects and spiders. Get a good tent bro.

We have no malaria in my state. I don't use a tent but a hammock. It is very good. I have seen snow and been in the cold before, but I am better suited for the tropics. You would get used to it.

Aren't there a lot of semi-dangerous spiders/snakes around? I might have a very 19thcentury idea of India though. I've been thinking about getting a hammock myself but I don't really see why one wouldn't just use a tent

Lighter than a tent. Don't need to carry a pad. Quicker to set up. Way more suitable spots to setup if your in the woods. More comfortable once your used to it. Less bugs and critters getting in and crawling on you. Only disadvantage is in windy cold weather. Take the hammockpill.

Is it really lighter tho? A proper hammock? My tent is 1 1/2 kilo. That's what kept me off of hammocks because I thought why get a hammock that weights the same if you can have a comfy tent instead. You habe one of these tent-like hammocks with mosquito net etc?

In my climate you need to carry a pad most time of the year that's why I don't think I get a lot of weight bonus from hammocks. I am getting old tho. I have no business being in this thread lol but it's the first time I see an out post from someone else than muricans and Europeans so I'm interested

I guess your right, my hammock is a bit over a kg packed with the fly and straps. Personally though I'm more comfortable off the ground, and I mostly bushwhack in forests where it's more difficult to find suitable tent locations.

Many people stay in lodges without electricity, sink, or toilet, but if I camp outside, it's in a hammock. Tents are too much work. If it will rain, I bring tarp. As far as venomous critters, I am no pussy. I got bit by a spider once and my arm swolled up, which is the only incident like that.

No actually in my countries 200 year history I can guarantee you people never shat in the street.
Even when my people first moved to this country they had designated shitting holes called outhouses, you know so there isn't shit everywhere. Because we aren't animals.
Then about 50 years into my countries existence we built plumbing, that thing wich was invented more than 1000 years ago by the Greeks and Romans.

I'm not concerned about tigers. I am a bit concerned about snakes. You can step on one without seeing it. They can get into your house, shed, hammock, tent, or whatever. They could easily take offense to you being there and attack. Antivenom is not rare or hard-to-find, but it's not like you can carrying it like bandaids.
