OP here, this thread sure got some people upset.
Okay I live in Northern Scandinavia, and have a full-time job which means (since I'm single) that I can spend about 1000 dollars every month on equipment if I want to and still live good.
I bought this tent for a number of reasons, one of them is that I need to a tent that will be able to handle all climates.
If travel in the Sarek national park in the late autumn that can handle gale storm winds, extreme amounts of rain and keep out snow if you get caught in a snow storm (which can last for days).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vfYSrJzVNYA Hilleberg is able to do this.
Another reason is that a three man tent is suitable for 2 person during winter camping. Mind you we are discussing proper winter with temperatures, so you need to be able to bunker up with heating equipment etc.
I'm also planning for a future where I meet a girl and get kids as well. Which is also a reason why I bought 3 person tent. And I also have a trip booked this coming spring with two friends?
Do you guys always go out alone?
Pic related a friend of mine camping in -40 celsius from like two weeks ago.
